By the way, if you look at my profile page it says I'm from Buechel, Ky. That's technically correct based on my zipcode. BUT, it's just a part of the city. I'm actually from Louisville, Ky which the Buechel area is a part of.

Nearly Divorced, Back Together?
There's not much to talk about I guess. Although there is a little something. My parents nearly got divorced and have been separated for the past 7 months. They went through much of the divorce process before my Dad decided that he didn't want to go through with it. Or rather my Mother gave him a second chance to try to set things right. My parents both want to try to make this thing work out. They're going to go through marriage counseling and my Dad is going to go through counseling of his own because he has a lot of problems of his own. I kinda hope they get back together but it'll be strange to see them together knowing they've been apart for so long.
This is all started when my Dad started to act strangely. Happened just before I decided to move out. I noticed that his behavior was becoming worse and I started to become indifferent to him. (My Dad and I never really had that good of a relationship anyway. We've always been like total opposites of each other). After I finally moved out, my Mom calls me up and tells me that my Dad bought a house in a rural area of Corydon, Indiana and he was moving his stuff out. I couldn't really believe what I heard and then when I went over to my Mother's house to pick up some mail I saw the truth with my own eyes. My Dad really left her. I looked in the garage and it was completely empty. All of his gun safes in the house were gone. He even took the washer and dryer.
After he moved out, my Dad had gone completely silent for a while. My Mom told me he didn't want to talk to anyone. For a while, he only spoke to my Mom until she filed for the divorce. My Dad didn't call me much but I didn't care to begin with. Like I said before, me and my Dad don't really talk to each other that much. But it's not something that ever really bothered me at all. (I've always been a quiet person). He called me to say Happy Birthday though. That was nice but I didn't really feel anything, though that's probably because I'm not expressive.
So, it's been a few weeks ever since he called and my parents have decided to try to make this work. They've been married for 27 years now. Honestly, I'd hate to see it end so I'm glad they're going to try to get help. But if things don't work out then it was probably for the better. Either way, something is going to happen. Just have to wait and see.

Video Games Live
This past Friday I went to the Video Games Live concert which was performed by our wonderful Louisville Orchestra. For those who don't know what Video Games Live is, it is basically a concert in which the orchestra plays the music from video games, old and new. The music is played alongside video footage of the games. This is the 2nd year that I've attended Video Games Live and for the second year in a row I had a hell of a time. There were some new additions to the music lineup this year. This year they played music from the Metroid series, BioShock, and Castlevania. Of course, that wasn't all. There was music from games like Tetris to the Halo series. And you can never forget about the music from Final Fantasy.
There was also a special guest appearance by Martin Leung also known as the Blindfolded Pianist. This link will lead you to a YouTube video of him playing the first part of a Mario Medley blindfolded. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHn-L6odDP4 This is no joke. I saw Martin Leung perform this feat of piano playing genius at Video Games Live when he played the same Mario Medley and did much of it blindfolded. Simply put, he is amazing to watch live.
If you're a gamer and you happen to enjoy the music from video games then I suggest you see this event at least once in your lifetime. Just like last year, it was a blast. Last year, was the first time VGL had ever come down to Louisville, Ky. There were old and new fans there for this years' edition. When they come back next year I will be there.
I forgot to make a note of this. If you visit www.ocremix.org there will be a new download of remixed music from Jade Empire. I know because some of the founders of OCRemix showed up at VGL and talked about it. So if you like OCRemix and you like Jade Empire, check it out.
Peace.

My Birthday
I had a good birthday celebration yesterday. Yep, yesterday was my birthday. I turned 26. I had fun. Me and my Mom went out to eat at Famous Dave's. I don't know if any of you have ever heard of it but it is a great BBQ restaurant. They aren't kidding when they say they're BBQ is award winning. It really deserves those awards. It's some of the best BBQ I've ever eaten. Then we went to go see Hancock. I can't believe critics hated this movie. It was damn good. Way better than I thought it would be. It was a short movie but, in a good way, it seemed longer. One of the better Will Smith movies I've seen. It's right up there with Independence Day.
Another interesting thing happened yesterday. My Dad called me to say Happy Birthday. My parents are going through a divorce right now. I hadn't heard from my Dad for quite some time until yesterday. But even if he didn't call it wouldn't have mattered. Either way, I was going to have a good time and that's precisely what I did.
Anyways, I'm a year older now. Lol. I'm on vacation this week too so I'm going to sit back, relax, chill, etc.
Peace.
